What is Take Ground?

Take Ground is a step toward our 2030 vision as we seek to establish permanency in the heart of Tucson. But taking ground is about more than securing a permanent place for Doxa to gather. It is about trusting God with every area of our lives and asking what it looks like to respond in faith to what He is calling us to do. In fact, the Bible says that the Christian life starts with a moment of faith, trusting that Jesus is who He says He is, and continues in faith, trusting that Jesus will do what He says He will do (Romans 1:17).

We believe God is inviting us to take a step of faith together. Take Ground is a two-year discipleship initiative designed to help us consider what it means to trust Jesus with our influence, lifestyle, generosity, and legacy. As we look toward the future God has for Doxa, we want to be a people who are willing to surrender what He has given us and trust Him with what comes next.

Located in the Arroyo Chico neighborhood, directly across from the University of Arizona’s Track & Field Stadium and soccer fields and just five minutes from Mansfeld Middle School.

The four-acre property includes a 22,000-square-foot building, 150 parking spaces, and a worship center with seating for more than 600. The space will give us room for Sunday gatherings, classes, ministry midweeks, and more as we continue to Take Ground in Tucson for the glory of God and the good of our city.

Brooke's Story

Brooke’s story is why we want to Take Ground in Tucson. As a church, we are deeply invested in the next generations and want to see college students, young adults, families, and generations to come encounter Jesus and be equipped to make Him known. We want to establish Doxa permanently in the heart of Tucson so that more and more stories like Brooke’s can unfold.
